The mem-re app keeps popping up on my phone – why?Updated an hour ago

If the mem-re experience keeps launching on your phone unexpectedly, don’t worry — it’s not a glitch. Your mem-re product is triggering it!

Why this happens

mem-re products with an NFC chip are designed to launch the experience automatically when they come close to your phone. If your card is stored near your phone (in the same wallet, purse, bag, or pocket), your phone may be picking up the NFC signal and triggering the App Clip or experience repeatedly.

How to fix it

Check whether your mem-re card is physically close to your phone. If it is, simply moving them apart will stop the experience from launching on its own. Try storing your card in a separate compartment or a different bag from your phone.

A few things to know

  • Your mem-re card is the only thing that triggers it. The mem-re experience will not appear randomly on its own — it requires your card to be nearby via NFC tap, or for the QR code to be actively scanned. If it keeps popping up, your card is the source.
  • This is more common on iPhone. iPhones are particularly sensitive to NFC signals and may trigger an App Clip prompt even when your card is just nearby in a bag or pocket.
  • You can dismiss the prompt. If the App Clip or experience appears and you don’t want to open it, just swipe it away. It won’t affect your product or experience.
